The exhibition The Next Big Thing is Not a Thing relates the evolving field of design to the science of anthropology. Using the gaze as a metaphor, the exhibition questions the underly- ing myths within design (and the about the designer), de- constructs its emerging signs, and examines how technology determines the future field of design.

The exhibition acknowledges the designer’s perspective as a new fields of knowledge, critical aspect of any research and design undertaking. The Next Big Thing is Not a Thing aims to understand design as a human centered practice and ex- pands its definition beyond a product-oriented practice as the subject of a discipline in cultural development.
